UPDATE: We hit our goal!
I am absolutely overwhelmed by the support you guys have shown for the Aurora Recovery Chute. Because of your incredible generosity, we have officially cleared the goal for the purchase of the chute itself!
What happens to additional donations?
Because I believe in being 100% transparent with this community, I want you to know exactly where any additional funds are going. Getting this equipment from the manufacturer to Karma Ranch—and then safely to our permanent home in Montana—involves significant logistics. Any further donations are now going directly toward:
Shipping & Tax: Covering the costs to get this specialized equipment to our current location.
Forklift Rentals: We will need to rent a forklift three times to safely offload and stage this equipment: once upon its arrival here in Utah, a second time to load up the chute to head to Montana, and a third time when we execute the final move to Montana and need to offload the final time.
The Montana Relocation: Coordinating the freight transport to get this gear across state lines to our permanent sanctuary site.
You aren't just buying a chute; you are helping us navigate the entire logistical puzzle of establishing our forever home. Every dollar beyond our initial goal is being set aside specifically to ensure this equipment arrives in Montana safely, ready to serve our herd on day one. Thank you for making this possible!
FAQ: Logistics. Why not just ship the chute directly to Montana?
I’ve had a few people ask if we can save on shipping by sending it directly to our permanent property in Montana. While that would certainly be more cost-effective, it isn't an option for our herd right now. Aurora needs the care that this chute provides today. Our move to Montana is still months away, and we cannot wait that long to provide her with safe, effective hoof care. We need the equipment here in Utah to manage her health immediately, so we will handle the logistics of moving it to Montana once our final relocation is underway.
